Vinnie is our lovely 4 year old! This fabulous little horse is learning so much and tries so hard, he is thoroughly enjoying his retraining.

This horse has been produced really nicely on the flat, slowly and correctly and will make a lovely RoR Dressage horse to bring on up the levels. He has been doing a bit of jumping, went out showing in hand and is getting confident out hacking which have recently started doing more of with him.
He travelled from Scotland to join us to find him the perfect home!

16.1hh, 8 year old gelding who is proving to be a vey special boy!
He has so must trust for me and always enjoys his retraining sessions and he tries really hard. He is looking for someone with experience and will enjoy a project to work with him and continue to allow Quest to develop. Kash has now found his new home!
He is with a lovely lady and will be enjoying hacking around the village with her. This gorgeous boy came to us back in 2024 with a tendon injury and we rehabbed him, gave him time out in our fields before bringing him back into work again. Kash you have always been a pleasure and you deserve your happy ending ❤🏇

Timmy is a 15.3hh, 11 year old gelding who joined us in the Summer but has been having some time in the field whilst we were busy with training liveries. He has recently come back into work and is really enjoying it and is learning all about flatwork and schooling now which he is picking up really quickly!
Timmy has been out hunting with his racing owner since retiring from racing but she now wants him to find his new home!
He would suit a hunting or fun ride home because he has proved himself to be good out in the field and on fun rides but we are giving him some other retraining so that he can have a wide choice of things he wants to do and enjoy.
He is popping away over coloured poles and is the easiest and sweetest boy to do absolutely everything with! What he lacks in schooling at the moment, he more than makes up for with the give it a go, trainable brain and attitude that he has.
The absolute best home for this gorgeous little boy!
If you are just after something to hunt and hammer all winter then don't bother contacting me, I want to see this horse in a nice fun, loving home where he can enjoy a bit of everything. He would also be an ideal family horse.
This video shows his first day ridden in the school with us, schooling this month, having a jump, out hacking and on the gallops! Even falling asleep when I tack him up!

Woody is a lovely, honest and genuine boy who is looking for someone who has the time and patience to continue his education. He has loads of potential or he would be happy being someone's best friend happy hacking. This video is of him back in the school after just hacking over Christmas and New Year.
He is starting to learn about carrying himself in the school and relaxing over the back , he is lovely project for someone who enjoys schooling!

He was living with a couple of pet sheep before coming to us and then we were sent a great video of him out hacking with sheep whilst he was still a Racehorse in training ❤🐑
He might be a bit sensitive but these videos show what an absolute sweet heart he is and a lovely genuine boy!

Steve having some fun jumping before Christmas
We have been trying to get Steve to open up the huge stride that he has and he certainly did that over a few jumps!
He could be a really smart competition horse if we can find the right person for him who doesn't mind a horse with a bit of spice sometimes, or he is quite happy hacking out and having a really nice easy life.
Has been out to Dressage with his previous owner and got 70%. Loads of potential schooling and jumping or he can be your happy hacker plod if you just want a nice big horse to chill out on after a hard days work!

When Henry the part Clydesdale came back for some holiday livery with his owners ex Racehorse, this time he went over to the rehab yard and got to play on the gallops!
Maybe we need to start training Clydesdales ❤🏇

Should Racehorses be given some retraining before rehoming?🏇
Not sure where to start or where I am going with this so bear with me a little!
Firstly, we absolutely love what we do, if we didn't then we certainly wouldn't do it because we don't really earn any money from rehoming the horses that we take in ourselves and we work 7 days a week all year round with very little family time for holidays and days out.
Now we worked in Racing and loved our time working with the Racehorses and I believe that is part of what gives us the special understanding we have with these horses when they retire from Racing.
I completely believe that all Racehorses should be assessed and given even some basic retraining before they are rehomed. So why do I feel that this is so important?
What these horses can be like when in Racing does not mean that they will necessarily be the same when they leave Racing!
We have had quiet horses in training become the most anxious to retrain and then some of the most anxious horses when Racing turn into the quietest, you cannot ever guarantee what they will be like until you have given them that time to adjust to their new lives and started their retraining with them. Some need time out, some prefer to keep busy, the horses dictate to us what they need and we work with them at the pace that suits them.
Why are retraining centres like ours so important?!
To give these horses that time to find themselves before they are thrown into the big wide world and to make sure that us, as professionals can try our very best to match them to the most suitable homes.
So how do we do that?
Once the horses are ready both mentally and physically to start their retraining, we allow the horses to find out what they enjoy doing. That may be hacking, schooling, jumping or even just eating in a field! We don't push them to do things they don't enjoy, we give them a choice and this means that we can then match them to people who want to enjoy then same things with a horse.
